When Will the Park Open?

The initial land needed for the park was acquired between 2019 and 2021. The park's Master Plan is now in development and will seek public input to identify and prioritize the first accesses, facilities, and opportunities established at the park when it is opened to the public, as well as how the park will be managed into the future. At this point, we estimate that the park will open sometime in 2025.

FPVSP Land Acknowledgement

Friends of Pisgah View State Park humbly acknowledges that the land we inhabit as well as the land now known as Pisgah View State Park lies within the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Anigiduwagi—more commonly known as the Cherokee—and possibly other Indigenous peoples who are related to or descended from the earliest known inhabitants.

We recognize that the Cherokee were driven from these lands through violence, broken treaties, duress, and forced removal. We honor their enduring connection to this land, as well as the resilience of all Indigenous peoples who have cared for these mountains, rivers, and valleys since time immemorial. We honor and recognize the ongoing connection of the Indigenous peoples to this land and will resolve to work with all Indigenous peoples to pursue our mission of preserving and protecting its natural resources and sharing its heritage and history.
