Our Mission

The Mission of FPVSP is to advance the interests of Pisgah View State Park, including,
but not limited to (1) preserving and protecting its natural resources; (2) sharing its
heritage and history; (3) advocating for educational and recreational opportunities within
and about Pisgah View State Park; and (4) promoting its sustainable maintenance and
development of facilities to further the interest of Pisgah View State Park.

Core Values

Preservation and Conservation of Natural, Historical and Cultural Resources

We believe that the land now known as Pisgah View State Park is rich with diverse flora, fauna and other natural resources that must be protected for future generations. The land has significant historical and cultural roots such as: Cherokee Tribal provenance and stewardship of the land; European settlement. The historical and cultural legacy must be preserved for future generations.

Sustainability

We believe that as an organization, FPVSP must create sustainable opportunities and make decisions that will allow for healthy growth while at the same time adhering to our values. We also believe that FPVSP can play a vital role in ensuring that the natural resources within PVSP will not be depleted but will be maintained to create an ecological balance.

Environmental, Natural, Historical and Cultural Ongoing Education

We believe that diverse educational opportunities about Pisgah View State Park (PVSP) are essential to preserving and enhancing various aspects of the park, as outlined below. Education on the potential environmental and ecological impacts on natural resources is crucial to ensuring their protection. By offering information and educational programs tailored to all ages, focusing on the park’s natural, historical, and cultural resources, we aim to deepen visitors’ understanding and engagement with these invaluable assets. It is our belief that education about the land's stewards will help preserve their legacy for future generations.

FPVSP is committed to transparency in communication and any decisions that are made by anyone representing FPVSP. FPVSP embraces diverse representation, equitable access and inclusion of all potential visitors of the Park.
